When I was younger, I felt so much pressure on January 1st. The start of lofty New Year resolutions and the beginning of a race that I would never finish.
Now, it feels different, more like a soft reset. It really embodies the turtle rather than the rabbit – slow and steady wins the race.

This year, I’m not sprinting into new habits or forcing myself into an overnight transformation. There is no hard deadline in mind, as if it doesn’t happen this year, I will fail. I’m choosing a Soft Launch January—a slower, gentler reset rooted in wellness, reflection, and consistency over perfection. I’ve found that it’s the only way to create lasting change.

Last year pushed me in ways I didn’t expect. I stepped outside my comfort zone socially and creatively, especially with live hosting and content creation. I showed up when it felt uncomfortable. I built relationships instead of staying isolated. I didn’t win every internal battle—but I showed up more than I ever had before.

To me, that matters more…

This year, I want to start a healthy and easier routine that is easier to keep up with. From there, I can ramp certain things up as needed. I’m continuing that growth through one of my new routines, the 75 Soft Challenge. Not as a punishment or a test of discipline, but as a framework for balance. I’m choosing to focus on wellness that supports my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. All of those parts of me deserve care.

As I have aged, it has become important to me to transform the full person. Focusing on one aspect of myself while everything else is messed up isn’t ideal for me.

I’m also resetting my space, slowly making my apartment feel more like home. Not perfect. Not styled for anyone else. Just calm, cozy, and supportive of the life I’m building.

I started doing some research and noted that the best way to achieve any resolutions or goals is to anchor it. In other words, find your “why”. My anchors this year are simple:

  • Consistency over perfection
  • Gentle routines I can return to
  • Being intentional
  • Reflection instead of self-criticism
  • Growth without burnout

January doesn’t have to be loud or extreme to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful changes come from quiet and slow commitment.

I don’t necessarily want to reinvent myself. I want to fine-tune and settle more deeply into the person I am and should be. I’m not seeking perfection, just trying to correct and reflect on the things I can control.

As I go through this process, I’ll do my best to consistently share my progress. What is something that you want to work on in 2026?
